Frequently Asked Questions about your Pinewood Derby® order

Approximately how long will it take to receive an order?
Plan on about 2 weeks. That allows 1 week for production and a week for actual shipping. If you need it sooner, just let us know. We can probably meet your date requirements.

How much engraving can I have on my trophies?
We recommend 3 lines with about 20 characters per line.  That keeps it legible.  We don’t count characters, so you can put as much as you want.  For Pinewood Derby® trophies, a good layout is:

If you want something different, just let us know. Be sure to include what, when, where & why – then stop. If you want individual names engraved, please email in a form we can copy/paste. How much does engraving cost for trophies?
Engraving is included with the price of the trophy.

How much does engraving cost for medals?
Engraving for medals is $1.00 per medal. For this engraving, we suggest including your Pack # and year. If you order gold, silver & bronze medals, let the color indicate the place; there is no reason to engrave the place. If you are using medals for rank winners, then you may want to engrave the rank.   

Will I be charged tax? 
It depends on where you are located. We are located in Texas. If we ship out of state, there is no tax. If you are in Texas, we need a Tax Exempt form on file. We can email you the form.    

How do you ship?
Our normal shipping method is UPS ground. For APO orders, we ship via US Postal Service. Occasionally we may choose a different method based on delivery date, location, etc.

What is shipping cost?
Orders over $95, shipping cost is a flat $10. For orders less than $95, a good estimate for UPS Ground is $18-$22. Actual shipping costs will be known after everything is boxed, weighed and your address entered. For APO orders a good estimate is $50-$65. Once again, actual shipping costs will be known after everything is boxed, weighed and your address entered.

What happens if a trophy is damaged in shipment or a word misspelled?
We replace it free of charge and will do everything possible to have it in your hands by your event date. There can still be situations where that doesn’t work, bad weather, etc. We do ask you inspect the order when you receive it instead of waiting until the day before your event.

What information do you need when I place my order?
We need a physical shipping address, day time phone number, trophies (part numbers) you want to order and engraving information. You can complete your order online. If you prefer, you can email or call with the information. We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Can you look up my order from last year?
Yes. We file Pinewood Derby ® and other BSA orders by Pack # and location. We can easily find your Pack information, even if you were not the individual that actually placed the order.

Are you a licensed BSA supplier?
Yes. We have been licensed with BSA since 2007, and all of our custom designs have been approved by BSA. You can verify our license by checking the official website, BSA Licensees – Licensing BSA . Vendors are listed in alphabetical order.
